Strong, helpful man lifted mom into SUV

-

I went to visit my mom at her assisted-living facility a few weeks ago.

I usually bring her lunch from a local restaurant, but that day she really wanted to get out for a bit, which I understand.

I was a bit nervous, because I was dressed in a suit and heels and she is in a wheelchair and sometimes requires a lot of help. Also, I have a Chevy Tahoe, so getting her and the wheelchair in and out can be challenging. I decided to say a prayer and give it a try because, let’s face it, she certainly had that attitude more than once while raising me!

We went to Eat’n Park in Monroeville and had a lovely time. When we got back to the car, I was helping her out of the wheelchair and into the passenger seat when her legs gave out, and she fell straight down.

I tried several times in vain to help her up, but we weren’t strong enough. It was just starting to rain, and I was starting to panic when an angel appeared.

A very nice gentleman pulled over and jumped out of his truck to help. He lifted her up like a bride and gently placed her into the seat. I truly do not know what we would have done without him! I tried to get his name and information to properly thank him with a gift card, but he just said he was happy to help and drove away.

I didn’t see his wings, but I'm pretty sure they were there! I hope he sees this letter and knows how much his help meant to us.
