Cubs 12, Mariners 1: Jon Lester (11-4) recovered from a rut of bad starts, pitching six shutout innings that led Chicago past visiting Seattle for its third win in a row. Jason Heyward and David Ross homered as the National League Central Division leaders improved to 9-5 since the AllStar break after a 1-9 slump. Lester gave up four hits, struck out seven and walked two. He was already done when there was a 74-minute rain delay in the seventh.

Cardinals 11, Marlins 6: Tommy Pham homered and drove in three runs, leading St. Louis past visiting Miami. Kolten Wong had three hits and drove in two runs and Jeremy Hazelbaker hit a two-run homer for St. Louis. Miami outfielder Ichiro Suzuki went 0 for 4 to remain at 2,998 career hits. Martin Prado homered and drove in three runs for Miami

Rockies 6, Mets 1: Tyler Chatwood (10-6) kept winning on the road, Carlos Gonzalez homered and drove in four runs and visiting Colorado defeated New York for its fourth consecutiv­e victory.

Braves 2, Phillies 1: Tyrell Jenkins (1-2) earned his first career victory, pitching six innings and helping the Atlanta beat visiting Philadelph­ia.

Blue Jays 6, Orioles 5: Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacio­n and Troy Tulowitzki each hit solo home runs in the first inning, Marco Estrada snapped a four-start winless streak and Toronto beat visiting Baltimore.

Tigers 14, Astros 6: Tyler Collins and Justin Upton each hit a three-run homer to lead Detroit to its fourth win in a row, beating visiting Houston.

Rays 5, Yankees 1: Jake Odorizzi (5-5) pitched masterfull­y into the seventh, Logan Forsythe and Corey Dickerson hit solo homers in the first, and host Tampa Bay beat New York.

Indians 5, Athletics 3: Abraham Almonte scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in Cleveland’s decisive four-run seventh against visiting Oakland.

Twins 2, White Sox 1: Minnesota’s Joe Mauer walked with the bases loaded, sending Eddie Rosario home for the walk-off victory against visiting Chicago.

Rangers 8, Royals 3: Rougned Odor drove in two runs, including a solo home run, to help Texas beat visiting Kansas City.
