Mac Miller turns to love on ‘The Divine Feminine’

based on how you can vibe in the studio.”

More pertinent to the concept is the appearance of pop star Ariana Grande, a previous duet partner with whom he has struck up a relationship.

“We work really well together, and when we were making music we were just friends, and we just have a lot of chemistry, obviously,” he says, a little hesitant to talk about it. “I don't know. I love to make music with her and towards the end of the record [‘My Favorite Part’] was one of the last few songs I made.”

Now, though, when you Google Mac Miller, for the first time you get overloaded with tabloid sites filled with pictures of the two of them out and about.

“I thought the tabloids would bother me, but it really hasn't at all,” he says. “My personal life is my personal life and whatever is said on the internet, well, I've had all types of things said about me. This is fine.”

Some of those things on the internet were said by the man who happens to be the Republican nominee for president. After some early goodwill between them over Miller’s break out track “Donald Trump” in 2011, the relationship turned sour in early 2013 when Miller make some critical comments about the business tycoon, who immediately threatened to sue him.

The song, which some have noted that Miller doesn't even care for much anymore, will certainly be a highlight of his set when he tours this fall.

“To be honest, I really don't mind it,” he says of “Donald Trump.” “I hate the fact that Trump is in the race. Other than going hard with it in shows, it's also a platform to voice my opinion on the matter, and I'm not a Trump supporter. You can say that.”

If Mr. Trump does win, the rapper from Pittsburgh will have had a Twitter feud with the leader of the free world.

“It's crazy, man,” he says. “The world is a crazy place.”
