Six stops on Ghost Walk on Saturday

- By Anne Cloonan

The Irwin Business and Professional Association will hold its third annual Ghost Walk on Saturday. Tours of two homes and four businesses will begin at 7 and 9 p.m.

Irwin council president John Cassandro said Monday that only 16 tickets remained for the event, but Mike Pochan, who is in charge of the Ghost Walk, said 60 additional tickets might be issued.

Mr. Cassandro said the buildings on the tour have been investigated by paranormal researchers from Hauntings Research of Westmoreland County.

The investigators will talk about their findings at three of the sites, and one will be at Café Supreme to answer questions after the walk, Mr. Pochan said.

Mr. Pochan said employees of Café Supreme, a restaurant on the tour, have seen a man smoking a cigar in the back of the restaurant.

When they approach him to tell him smoking is not allowed in the building, he disappears, he said.

The late, former owner of the restaurant smoked a cigar, Mr. Pochan said.

When employees who work in the former John Irwin House on Main Street work late, they sometimes hear someone moving around upstairs, but when they go up, no one is there, he said.
