RMU holds off Terriers

Colonials hit final free throws to win

Isaiah Still scored 23 points and Robert Morris held on to defeat St. Francis Brooklyn, 62-58.

Still was 7-of-12 shooting and grabbed six rebounds, as did four other Colonials (6-11, 2-2 NEC).

The Colonials kept the lead from the 14:17 mark of the first half and were up by 15 when the Terriers (4-13, 2-2) rallied to cut the lead to two, the final time with 10 seconds to go. But Kavon Stewart made two fouls shots to seal the game.

State 63: The Nittany Lions (10-7, 2-2 Big Ten) pulled off a big upset at the famed Palestra in Philadelph­ia and beat the Spartans (11-6, 3-1) for the first time since 2011.

District women

Duquesne 73, Davidson

51: Amadea Szamosi recorded her 1,000th career point with 18 points and 11 rebounds in Duquesne's (9-8, 2- 2 A-10) home victory against Davidson (2-13, 0-3).

Purdue 64, Penn State

51: Junior Lindsey Spann's scored 10 points but Penn State (11-5, 1-3 Big Ten) could not get into a rhythm offensivel­y and dropped the game at Purdue (11-6, 2-1).

St. Francis Brooklyn 56,

Robert Morris 49: Despite holding its third opponent of the season to under 30 percent shooting, Robert Morris (6-8, 1-2 NEC) dropped its home matchup with St. Francis Brooklyn (4-10, 2-1).
