Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a Point Breeze man accused of firing several shots at a female friend on Sunday.

Pittsburgh police Monday charged Michael Ginyard Jr., 30, with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and other charges.

According to a police affidavit, Ginyard fired six to eight shots from his car toward Jaclyn Eidinger after she came to his grandmother’s house in the 6900 block of McPherson Boulevard seeking $10,000. The money was supposed to be repayment for something police did not identify.

Ginyard drove away after firing the shots and had not been apprehended, police said.

Investigators said that when they searched his grandmother’s house, they detected a strong odor of marijuana and then found what appeared to be heroin residue in the room where Ginyard had been staying.

Ginyard previously was convicted of drug crimes and has spent time in prison and on probation, according to court records.
