Live music, children’s crafts and even some help with technology will be part of an open house that the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall in Carnegie will hold to thank the community for its support.

The free open house activities will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the library, 300 Beechwood Ave.

Rhythm in Blue, an 18- piece Air Force jazz band, will perform at 3 p.m. in the Music Hall.

The band and vocalists perform a wide repertoire of jazz and fusion, from big band swing to contemporary and patriotic.

A local ensemble, RLM Jazz, will perform in the studio from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m.

Art created by Carlynton School District students will be on display in the studio, where light refreshments will be served.

In the library, crafts for ages preschool through middle school will be offered. Jeff Keenan of Carnegie will draw free caricat u r e s in the Lincoln Gallery. The Espy Post Civil War room will be open.

Assistant library director Nate Wyrick will provide assistance to those who need help using their mobile devices, including smart phones, notebooks and e-book readers.

The Air Force concert and open house are the library’s way of saying “thank you” to Carnegie council and the community, executive director Maggie Forbes said.

In December, council ratified a 20-year contract “that gives stable and reasonable funding to the library for the first time in its 115-year history,” Ms. Forbes said.
