Man dies in I-79 crash

A York County man died Thursday in a car crash in Washington County.

Gary Paul Visser, 53, of Hanover, was killed about 2 p.m. on Interstate 79 in Amwell, according to the Washington County Coroner’s office.

The coroner said Mr. Visser lost control of his car while driving north, struck a guard rail, and then collided with a tanker truck. He was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Pennsylvania State Police were investigating, but the coroner’s office said the death was an accident.
