Bebe to shutter all stores
Bebe Stores Inc. is the latest brick-and-mortar retailer to shutter its stores as more shopping shifts online. Almost one month after the California company hired a consultant to explore “strategic alternatives,” Bebe said its stores are expected to go dark by the end of May, according to documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The women’s apparel chain has one location in the Pittsburgh region at Ross Park Mall. Bebe operates 134 retail stores and 34 outlet stores across the country.
