Mr. Milburn is the director of curriculum and instruction in the Montour School District. He worked with the West Jefferson Hills School District’s new superintendent, Michael Ghilani, for the past two years while both were at Montour.

“Everything in the district begins with curriculum. This is making a very dedicated decision about the future of our curriculum,” board president Brian Fernandes said.

“I’m really thrilled that these two gentlemen are coming on board to fill out our leadership team.”

In addition to overseeing the curriculum, the assistant superintendents will be responsibile in their respective grade levels for assessment, supervising principals, professional development, data mining, grant writing, policy development and more.

“We are aiming to ensure true communication, articulation and alignment so everyone is speaking the same language and not being redundant but being efficient and meeting all individual students’ needs,” Mr. Ghilani said.
