Bomber may have acted alone
LONDON— Manchesterpolice searcheda property on Wednesdayin their investigation into last week’s suicidebombing as a clearerpicture began to emergeabout the attacker’s actions in the four dayspreceding the assault.
Twenty-twopeople were killedand 116 were injured inthe attack, which occurredat the end of an ArianaGrande concert in Manchester.The attack, carriedout by 22-year-old SalmanAbedi, was the deadliestin Britain in morethan a decade.
OnWednesday, police weresearching a property onBanff Road, about four milessouth of Manchester Arena, the site of the blast. Theyset up a cordon and askedthe public to avoid thearea.
Policesaid Abedi is likelyto have bought most ofthe bomb components himselfand largely acted alone.
Butpolice also said they couldnot rule out the possibilitythat he may have beenpart of a wider network.
130 killed in Philippines
