Sissons dodges suspension for cross-check on Maatta
The Nashville Predators will have center Colton Sissons in their lineup Sunday night for Game 6 of the Stanley Cup final.
The NHL Department of Player Safety tweeted early Friday afternoon that it had reviewed Sissons’ crosscheck to Olli Maatta’s head at 19:26 of the third period of the Penguins’ 6-0 win Thursday in Game 5 and decided against a suspension.
Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said on a conference call Friday morning that Maatta was “fine.”

Because Sissons was given a match-penalty, a review of the play in question was mandatory.
