Boyce Park Wave Pool to reopen Sunday morning

The Boyce Park Wave Pool will reopen Sunday morning.

The pool was closed Saturday following a power outage caused by Friday night’s storm.

Power had been restored by Saturday afternoon, and the pool will reopen at its regular time, 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Plum pharmacy robbery suspect captured

Plum police arrested a man accused of being involved in an armed robbery at Bill’s Hometown Pharmacy early Saturday.

According to the department, officers were dispatched at 8:29 a.m. to the pharmacy on Unity-Center Road. Police said a man forced an employee at knife point into the store as it was opening, demanding prescription narcotics.

The suspect then fled on foot. With the help of Penn Hills police and a K-9 unit, officers located Nathan Comanici, who will be charged in the case. Officers said they recovered a large quantity of narcotics, as well as other items used in the robbery.

Police spokeswoman Sonya Toler said investigators believe the victim was “hanging out on [the] porch with other individuals” when he was shot at least once.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the victim as Craig Gerald Summers of Pittsburgh.
