Boyce Park Wave Pool to reopen Sunday morning

The Boyce Park Wave Pool will reopen Sunday morning.

The pool was closed Saturday following a power outage caused by Friday night’s storm.

Power had been restored by Saturday afternoon, and the pool will reopen at its regular time, 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Plum pharmacy robbery suspect captured

Plum police arrested a man accused of being involved in an armed robbery at Bill’s Hometown Pharmacy early Saturday.

According to the department, officers were dispatched at 8:29 a.m. to the pharmacy on Unity-Center Road. Police said a man forced an employee at knife point into the store as it was opening, demanding prescripti­on narcotics.

The suspect then fled on foot. With the help of Penn Hills police and a K-9 unit, officers located Nathan Comanici, who will be charged in the case. Officers said they recovered a large quantity of narcotics, as well as other items used in the robbery.

Police spokeswoma­n Sonya Toler said investigat­ors believe the victim was “hanging out on [the] porch with other individual­s” when he was shot at least once.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the victim as Craig Gerald Summers of Pittsburgh.
