S.S. Beaver edges OLSH

-

With only four returning starters on offense, South Side Beaver entered the season with plenty of inexperience on its side. But the first game turned out to be a terrific experience for the Rams.

South Side Beaver was impressive against a ranked team, knocking off Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, 28-21, in the Western Pennsylvania Legends Classic Saturday at North Allegheny.

OLSH came into the nonconference game as the Post-Gazette’s No. 4 WPIAL Classs 1A team. South Side Beaver, a 2A team which finished 4-6 a year ago, got a big game from T.J. Botkin to turn back the Chargers. Botkin rushed for 154 yards on 30 attempts.

Trenton Seik had a hand in three of South Side Beaver’s touchdowns. He threw touchdown passes of 6 and 20 and also ran 1 yard for a score.
