Norwin cruises to semis

Knights shut out Tigers again, 4-0

Emily Harrigan scored two second-half goals and goalkeeper Sam Wexell set a school record with her 51st shutout as Norwin (19-2-1) defeated North Allegheny (148-1), 4-0, in the PIAA Class 4A quarterfin­als.

For the Knights, it’s their third shutout against the Tigers in less than a month.

Shady Side Academy 3, Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic 1: Sophia McMahon set up Callie Davis for the goahead goal with 9:28 remaining in regulation and scored with 48 seconds left to ice it to send the Indians (15-4-0) to the Class 1A semifinals for the second year in a row.

Greensburg Central Catholic 1, Windber 0: Freshman Sam Felder scored the only goal of the game midway through the second half as the Centurions (17-3-0) moved on in Class 1A.
