The Penguins will play Columbus twice before the month ends, and each time they do pesky Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky will not be in the lineup.

Dubinsky, who usually shadows Sidney Crosby when the teams meet, will not play for at least six to eight weeks because of fractured orbital bone in his left eye.

His long-term vision, however, is not expected to be damaged in any way. The gifted faceoff man, defensive center and agitator was put on the injured-reserve list Wednesday and will be replaced on the roster by Jordan Schroeder, who was called up from Cleveland (AHL).

Dubinsky has played in 31 games this season, notching three goals, nine assists.

Devils

Left winger Taylor Hall is listed as day-to-day for New Jersey with a contusion in his right knee and will not play Thursday against the host Montreal Canadiens. Hall was injured in the third period Tuesday night after he scored two goals in a 5-1 win against the Los Angeles Kings. Hall leads the Devils with 31 points (11 goals, 20 assists).

Predators

Nashville’s home will continue to be known as Bridgestone Arena through at least 2025. The Predators and Bridgestone Americas Inc. announced Wednesday that they have agreed to a five-year extension of the naming rights agreement for the arena. The deal now runs through 2025. No financial terms were disclosed.

Shortly after Ottawa general manager Pierre Dorion said that firing coach Guy Boucher or making a trade is not the answer for the team’s monthlong slump, the Senators went out and beat the visiting New York Rangers, 3-2, Wednesday night. The Senators are now 2-10-2 in their past 12 games.
