At 7:30 p.m., Tim Fla­herty will speak on “Betwee­ness: The Math­e­mat­ics of Be­ing Be­tween.” He is an as­so­ci­ate pro­fes­sor in the Depart­ment of Math­e­mat­i­cal Sci­ences, Carnegie Mel­lon Uni­ver­sity, and an ul­tra-marathon run­ner who just com­pleted a 100-mile race. The ex­hi­bi­tion con­tin­ues through Feb. 23. Ad­mis­sion: Free. Hours: 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tues­day and Thurs­day, 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Satur­day, and by ap­point­ment. Events: 7 p.m. Feb. 1, “Betwixt & Be­tween,” a night of po­etry and spo­ken word fea­tur­ing spo­ken word artist Corey Car­ring­ton (Grits Capone); 6 p.m. Feb. 16, con­ver­sa­tion with col­lec­tive artists, who will share sto­ries about their work, lives and ex­pe­ri­ences ($5 sug­gested do­na­tion); 6 p.m. Feb. 23, clos­ing re­cep­tion in­clud­ing per­for­mances by Pitts­burgh-based Puerto Ri­can Bomba mu­sic dance en­sam­ble Calle Bomba and The Beau­ti­ful Ugly.
