63rd annual Pittsburgh CLO Guild Ball

#RhythmIsGonnaGetYou: Miami-inspired food, entertainment and fun infused this glamorous gala on Saturday night at the Westin Hotel and Convention Center, Downtown. The 63rd annual CLO Guild Ball, chaired by Laura Penrod Kronk and Dolores Warwick, was a nod to the CLO’s season opener, “On Your Feet.” But at the heart of the event? Supporting the arts so that the generation coming up will be able to be encouraged to engage.

“Whenever I hear our young performers sing, you would think you were at a Broadway show,” said Ms. Kronk. “It is a testament that if you encourage the youth, they can do big things.” Added Ms. Warwick: “We are happy and honored to provide opportunities and support for such great talent.”

The event, which welcomed 250 guests, is also a testament to the great love of the arts in our Steel City. “The arts is just so important. It lays the groundwork for what we do and introduces our youth to the idea of performance as art. It makes us better people,” said executive producer Van Kaplan.

As partygoers made their way into the ballroom for dinner — which included (naturally!) pina colada cheesecake and entertainment starring Nick Cortazzo, Chloe Kehm, Floyd McLean and Bianca Melidor — CLOE Award for Community Service honorees Sandy and Bill Lambert reflected on what brought them to the CLO. “It was our family date night,” said Mr. Lambert, as he fondly gestured toward his two (now adult!) daughters, Kelly and Emily. “We would explore the city with the girls, see a new play, try a new restaurant. It bonded us.” Added Ms. Lambert: “We’ve just always loved and supported the arts, and we are so honored to be able to share that joy with our daughters and our community.” The event raised $200,000.
