Rodgers signs 4-year extension worth $134 million
Two-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers signed a four-year extension Wednesday with the Green Bay Packers that will keep the superstar quarterback under contract through the 2023.
The four-year deal is worth $134 million. It includes more than $100 million in guaranteed money.
Rodgers’ new annual average salary of $33.5 million per year would eclipse Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan’s new five-year extension that has been reported to be worth $30 million a year.

Cleveland linebacker Mychal Kendricks was released Wednesday night, hours after he was charged by federal prosecutors in Philadelphia with insider trading.
Kendricks, who signed a one-year contract with the Browns in June after winning a Super Bowl title last season with the Eagles, allegedly used tips from an acquaintance to make about $1.2 million in illegal profits on four major trading deals, said federal prosecutors.
Kendricks faces possible prison time and further discipline from the NFL for violating its personal conduct policy.

Minnesota receiver Cayleb Jones has been arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic assault and theft. Dakota County Jail records show that Jones was arrested Tuesday by Eagan, Minn., police.
He also is accused of interfering on a 911 call. Jones is suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.
Seahawks
Seattle coach Pete Carroll said linebacker K.J. Wright will miss at least a couple of weeks after arthroscopic knee surgery, making it increasingly unlikely he will play in the Sept. 9 opener at Denver. Meanwhile, Seattle signed wide receiver-kick returner Tyler Lockett to a threeyear extension for an undisclosed amount, locking up a major contributor who could have been a free agent after the season. The Seahawks also acquired Green Bay backup quarterback Brett Hundley for an undisclosed late-round draft pick.
