High school musical previews NORTH

Twilight is when the stars come out, and Memorial Park Presbyteri­an Church is previewing upcoming high school musicals at two “Twilight Night” events. Soloists from the spring production­s at local high schools will perform at 7 p.m. Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 in the church, located at 8800 Peebles Road, McCandless. Admission is pay-what-you can, with proceeds benefiting North Hills Community Outreach.

National Puzzle Day SOUTH

Jan. 29 is National Puzzle Day, and to mark the event, the Pleasant Hills Public Library will set out a variety of puzzles — jigsaw, crossword, Sudoku and Rubik’s Cubes — for patrons to solve in the library’s reading area. Park to host SnowFest EAST

Boyce Park will hold its SnowFest, a daylong event of family fun for skiers and nonskiers alike from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 26 on its ski slopes and in its lodge. The event will include a cardboard box snowtubing derby, a mascot meet-and-greet, a mini-Junior Olympics and snowboard races, as well as facepainti­ng, balloon artists, photo booths and a puppet show. Cello rock trio in concert WEST

The Listen Locally performanc­e series, sponsored by the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall in Carnegie, will present the cello rock trio Cello Fury in concert at 7 p.m. Jan. 26. Comprising the trio are Simon Cummunits, Nicole Myers and Ceclia Caughman.
