Affordable housing

-

Let’s see if I understand this. I pay taxes so I can support or subsidize affordable housing where individuals are on a waiting list of 100-plus. So, I am on the hook for the bureaucracy, maintenance of and the building of new low-income facilities because they don’t have enough apartments to supply this need.

The need is there because a good percentage of the elderly and retirees can’t afford to keep their homes that they spent a lifetime paying for. They can’t afford their homes because of the over-bearing and constantly increasing taxes and reassessments imposed by the oligarchy.

I suspect very strongly that it would be less expensive and more cost-effective if the government were to create conditions to allow retirees to stay in their homes. In doing so, we could reduce the bureaucracy, the buildings and maintenance and, as an added plus, we could reduce the taxes of the average hard-working taxpayer. It is hard to imagine how the selfworth of an individual is depleted when forced to lose their homes and having nothing to leave their children.

Allowing the taxpayer to keep more of his money is more cost-effective than trying to spread it through a bureaucracy then back to the taxpayer on the pretense of helping.

What it does accomplish is it allows the oligarchy to siphon off a big percentage of the money to support what they feel their lifestyle should be. I’m sure they have a ton of lawyers that I pay to figure out this rouse.

The Bible teaches the poor will always be with you. I believe if the oligarchy were a little more forthcoming and a lot less self-serving, we would have a lot fewer poor.
