Steelers sign running back and linebacker
The Steelers signed two players to their offseason roster Friday.
Linebacker Robert Spillane and running back Malik Williams were signed to the 90-man roster.
Spillane, a Western Michigan product, played in one game for the Tennessee Titans this past season before being released at midseason. He spent the first part of the 2018 season on the Titans practice squad.
Spillane (6 feet 1, 230 pounds) was second-team all-Mid-American Conference as a junior and senior. In his college career, he played in 47 games and posted 312 tackles, 10 sacks, four interceptions and three forced fumbles.
Williams, who played for Louisville, went to training camp with the Falcons in the summer but he was waived with a shoulder injury.
Williams (6-3, 220) had 531 rushing yards and four touchdowns in his final college season.

Former Colts and Lions coach Jim Caldwell was hired by new Miami coach Brian Flores as assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach. Caldwell was among 16 members of Flores’ staff announced. The group includes new offensive coordinator Chad O’Shea and defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, both former Patriots assistants. Flores joined the Patriots in 2004 and was the defensive play-caller for this season’s Super Bowl championship team. He became the Dolphins coach Monday.

Another 12 million has been added to CBS’ viewership totals for Super Bowl LIII. The network said that the New England Patriots 13-3 victory over the Los Angeles Rams Feb. 3 now totals 112.7 million viewers. That’s based on Nielsen’s “Out of Home” viewing metric. That includes viewers at places including other people’s homes, bars, restaurants and hotels. The total audience includes those who viewed the game on CBS and ESPN Deportes as well as streaming on CBS, ESPN, Verizon Media and NFL streaming services. The Super Bowl traditionally is the most-watched telecast of the year. The audience hasn’t dipped below 100 million since 2009.
