Flowery language?
The Feb. 7 Post-Gazette editorial “Trump’s Resilience” states that President Donald Trump was “presidential” in his State of the Union speech. It seems to me that the term means more than flowery language.
Was he presidential when he did not say one word about the environment? Was he presidential when he ignored gun violence? Was he presidential when he showed no concern for the federal employees who suffered during the shutdown? Was he unifying when he criticized the Mueller investigation for being biased? Being presidential involves more than rhetoric; it involves leadership. MICHAEL McGRATH, SR.
