The Robert Morris women saw their 11-game unbeaten streak in Northeast Conference play come to an end as the Colonials were clipped by host Mount St. Mary’s, 6155, Saturday.

Robert Morris (14-9, 11-1 NEC) and Mount St. Mary’s (11-12, 5-7) traded the lead seven times, twice in the final minute. The Colonials forced 21 turnovers and collected 11 steals, but saw the Mountaineers shoot 45 percent from the field (18 for 40), 42.9 percent on 3-pointers (9 for 21), and 72.7 percent at the line (16 for 22).

“Mount St. Mary’s did a great job of playing extremely hard,” said Robert Morris coach Charlie Buscaglia. “I give them a lot of credit for their effort and going out and winning the game. It was a hard-fought game for most of the time, and we came up a little short.”

Nneka Ezeigbo posted her fifth double-double of the season, leading Robert Morris with 16 points and 12 rebounds (nine offensive). The junior added two assists, two blocks, and a steal in 27 minutes — the steal being the 100th of her career, making her the 17th player in program history to reach that mark.
