Dancing with the Cars
If you were looking for something different to do with the car lover in your life on Valentine’s Day, then Dancing with the Cars was the place to be. The David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Downtown, was buzzing with excitement as more than 1,000 car enthusiasts and aficionados perused aisle after aisle of new, vintage and rare cars during this Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix charity preview of the 2019 Pittsburgh International Auto Show. This year marks the 75th auto show which started in 1924. This year honored that milestone by raising a record $410,000 for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as those on the autism spectrum. “This is one of the largest charity fundraisers in the city,” said John Putzier, CEO of the Greater Pittsburgh Automobile Dealers Association. “This is what it is all about. We love seeing all of the dealerships come together to give back and do what we can for our region.” Added Dan DelBianco, executive director of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Association: “It’s a win for everyone. We love this community and we all love cars. I can’t think of a better combination than being here raising money to support great causes while enjoying the car show.”
