South Dakota State’s Mike Daum becomes only the 10th player in Division I history to reach 3,000 career points — but second this season — when he scores 25 in a 94-89 win vs. South Dakota. Daum has 3,004 points.

Sunday

Tacko Fall, Central Florida’s 7-foot-4 senior man in the middle, has a 20/20 doubledouble — 23 points and 20 rebounds in a 95-48 rout of SMU. He averages 11.2 points and 7.3 rebounds.

Monday

Southern Conference leader Wofford (24-4) joins the Top 25 for the first time in school history. The Terriers are led by Fletcher Magee, who is in line for some history of his own. He starts with week with 477 career 3-pointers — 27 shy of the NCAA mark set by Oakland’s Travis Bader (504 from 2010-14).

The Rutgers women win their first game since coaching legend C. Vivian Stringer, 70, stepped away to rest on the advice of doctors. The Scarlet Knights defeat Wisconsin, 7353. Says assistant coach Tim Eatman: “When mom’s away you want to make sure you do everything you can to make sure mom feels proud of you.”

Tuesday

West Virginia’s 103-96 triple-OT loss to TCU is the first for the Mountaineers since Feb. 12, 2010 — a night they so memorably lost to Pitt in three OTs, 98-95. Coincidentally, the winning coach in both games was Jamie Dixon.

After Colby White scores 34 points in No. 5 North Carolina’s 93-85 win vs. Syracuse, Tar Heels coach Roy Williams says of White: “He’s the best scoring point guard that I’ve coached.” Big words from a big-time coach who’s helmed two bigtime programs.

Wednesday

IUP, ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division II, arrives at Edinboro with the chance to lock up the PSAC West. Apparently, nerves get the better of the team manager in charge of packing the gear for the Crimson Hawks. They arrive without uniforms. Wearing loaners, they still win handily, 87-59. Left to be written are the stories for future generations explaining why they’re celebrating in their opponent’s uniforms.

Thursday

Asia Durr has a senior night to remember for the No. 3 Louisville women. She scores 47 points in a 92-62 rout of N.C. State. So dominant is Durr that she scores as many points in the first half (28) as the entire Wolfpack team (28).

• Ronshad Shabazz scores 47 points for Appalachian State. His teammates score 28. The Mountaineers fall to Louisiana-Monroe, 81-75.

State of the game in 2019: UNC Greensboro attempts 36 3-pointers vs. just 28 2-point shots vs. The Citadel. The Spartans (25-5, 14-3 Southern) make 16 3s and win, 100-96.
