Brown clear in domestic assault case
The domestic dispute involving former Steeler Antonio Brown in Florida Jan. 17 has apparently been put to rest by the police and the NFL.
The Hollywood, Fla., police department, which took a report that Brown shoved a woman to the ground, neither arrested the Oakland Raiders wide receiver nor charged him with a crime.
The NFL, which last month said it would look into the matter, no longer is investigating it, if the league ever did.
“We are aware of the matter and have been monitoring it,’’ NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said. “No update.”
Wiltrice Davay Jackson, 30 of Miami Gardens accused Brown on Jan. 17 of shoving her to the ground after a dispute over whether Brown would pay for their daughter’s haircut. However, Jackson later refused to press charges, and apparently the NFL has followed suit.
Titans
Miami traded quarterback Ryan Tannehill to Tennessee in a deal that also involved draft picks. The Dolphins sent their sixth-round pick this year to the Titans for a fourth-round choice in 2020 and a seventh-round pick in April.
Browns
Running back Kareem Hunt has been suspended eight games by the NFL for violating the Personal Conduct Policy. Hunt was captured on video kicking and shoving a woman in the hallway of a Cleveland hotel while playing for Kansas City last season. He was released by the Chiefs in December.
Ravens
Baltimore special teams coach Jerry Rosburg retired after an 11-year run with the team. The announcement came prior to a news conference to introduce newcomers Mark Ingram and Earl Thomas, who signed as free agents after passing physicals Friday morning.
Raiders
Oakland signed receiver J.J. Nelson and defensive lineman Josh Mauro. The Raiders also re-signed free agent linebacker Jason Cabinda and unrestricted free agent guard Chaz Green.
