PSU QB transfers to Miss. State
Former Penn State quarterback Tommy Stevens is transferring to Mississippi State and will be reunited with one-time Nittany Lions offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead, now head coach of the Bulldogs.
Stevens, who can use his final year of eligibility in 2019 because he already has earned a degree from Penn State, opted to transfer this spring, apparently after coach James Franklin declined to guarantee him that he’d be the starting quarterback in the fall.
With Stevens gone, Sean Clifford, who was his main competition, has assumed the No. 1 position.
