History Makers Awards Dinner

The Place: The Westin Pittsburgh hotel, Downtown, Thursday night

The Party: The 27th annual History Makers Award Dinner to benefit the Sen. John Heinz History Center was chaired by Eric Boughner and Mark Rendulic, and honored the late Milton Fine and his wife Sheila Reicher Fine (with her son David Fine) with the Philanthro­py Award. Dr. Stanley Marks (with Nikol) received the Heath Care Award; Harry Clark was honored with the Education Award; and David Morehouse (with Vanessa) was presented with the Leadership Award. The Sarris Family, of Sarris Candies Inc., was honored with the Business Award. Athena Sarris and her son Bill were among those representi­ng the family. “I love this city and I know that my husband Milt loved this city, and it is wonderful to be recognized as people who made a difference,” said Mrs. Fine. “Milt was enjoying philanthro­py until he passed away and so I am really grateful for this award, and he knew about the award, which was nice,” she added.

The People: Nearly 400 guests came to celebrate, including: History Center CEO Andy Masich with his wife Deb; Board Chair Diane Holder; Bev and Steve Elliott; Nancy Washington; Steve and Sophia Sarris Heon; Jackie Dixon with Ralph Watson; Jean Horne; Lou Cestello; and Robert Krizner.
