1794 Congress passed the Neutrality Act, which prohibited Americans from taking part in any military action against a country that was at peace with the U.S.

1932 World War I veterans seeking payouts from the government, referred to as The Bonus Army, marched through Pittsburgh en route to Washington.

1950 The U.S. Supreme Court, in Henderson v. United States, struck down racially segregated railroad dining cars.

1978 Bail bondsmen David Wander and Edward Reddington were convicted of a sex blackmail scheme against Allegheny County Commission­er Robert N. Peirce.

2005 The 64-story U.S. Steel Tower building was sold at sheriff’s sale for $1.35 million as part of a plan to shift title from 600 Grant Street Associates to 600 GS Prop GP LLC without exchanging money.
