A Tony-winning musical about summer in the city is the perfect opportunit­y to check out the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, the sprawling entertainm­ent venue and school in Midland. The production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights,” opening Friday, reunites director Justin Fortunato and star JJ Caruncho as Usnavi — the same pair from Carnivale Theatrics’ Pittsburgh regional premiere of the Tony-winning musical in 2013. Students from Point Park and Carnegie Mellon universiti­es and Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School make up the ensemble. On the MainStage at 1 Lincoln Park, Midland, Friday through June 23.
