A Tony-winning musical about summer in the city is the perfect opportunity to check out the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, the sprawling entertainment venue and school in Midland. The production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights,” opening Friday, reunites director Justin Fortunato and star JJ Caruncho as Usnavi — the same pair from Carnivale Theatrics’ Pittsburgh regional premiere of the Tony-winning musical in 2013. Students from Point Park and Carnegie Mellon universities and Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School make up the ensemble. On the MainStage at 1 Lincoln Park, Midland, Friday through June 23.
