Suspect sought in Crafton stabbing

Police are searching for a suspect in the July 4 stabbing of a Crafton man after he answered his door.

Officials responded about 10 p. m. on Independen­ce Day to the 100 block of South Emily Street, where they found the man suffering from knife wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.

Allegheny County Police said the man was wounded after the assailant knocked on his door and tussled with him. The suspect stabbed the victim in the torso and chin area during the struggle, officials said.

The suspect ran away after the victim disarmed him. The motive for the attack was unknown.

The suspect was described as a white man about 5- foot- 8 and weighing 240 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black T- shirt, authoritie­s reported.
