Dylan and Lizzie (Alan Cumming, Bojana Novakovic) have investigat­ed some memorable cases together, but the new episode “After Hours” finds the sleuthing partners in an unsettling new milieu: the erotic underworld of New York City. It’s an environmen­t that’s somewhat familiar to him from all his years of psychologi­cal studies, but she’s less comfortabl­e as they investigat­e the murder of a high-powered PR rep. Elsewhere, Julian (Naveen Andrews) encounters a glamorous old flame.

The Terror

Season two of this horror anthology opens with “Infamy: A Sparrow in a Swallow’s Nest,” which introduces a new setting — the West Coast of the United States during World War II — and characters, headed by Chester Nakayama (Derek Mio), a soldier and American-born son of immigrants native to Japan. Chester’s Japanese-American community is being haunted by a malevolent spectral presence whose evil influence seemingly knows no boundaries.

8 p.m. on HBO Alternate Endings: Six New Ways to Die in America

This 2019 documentar­y from Emmy winner Matthew O’Neill and Perri Peltz explore changing attitudes, rituals and mechanics of death on the part of most Americans, who in 2018 for the first time favored cremation over traditiona­l funerals and burials. Topics include the option for terminally ill patients to use medical assistance to shorten final suffering, ways to honor loved ones as they are going through their final days and unique celebratio­ns of the life of departed loved ones. THURSDAY

8 p.m. on HIST Mountain Men

Tom and Sean confront a threat from coyotes, while Raleigh and Eustace recruit some much-needed help as they try to build their lookout cabin in the new episode “All or Nothing.” Margaret and Morgan’s quest to find a stream where the fish are jumping takes them deep into the backcountr­y. Harry and Kidd run the rapids as they seek to secure grazing land for the summer. FRIDAY

Ghost Brothers: Haunted Houseguest­s

BFFs and ghost hunters Dalen Spratt, Juwan Mass and Marcus Harvey travel the United States to help people who are pleading for relief from paranormal activity in their homes. In the series premiere, “The Bad Man,” disabled Marine veteran Conrad Dowe had dreamed of remodeling a historic Michigan mansion nicknamed the Wedding Cake House, but as soon as he and his bride, Jessica, moved in, the home’s sinister spirits made their presence known. SATURDAY

Movie: A Summer Romance Samantha “Sam” Walker (Erin Krakow) is under heavy pressure to sell her family’s picturesqu­e Montana ranch to wealthy developers from New York, or risk losing the property altogether to foreclosur­e. Handsome real estate executive Richard Belmont (Ryan Paevey) flies out to sweet-talk Sam, but instead he winds up getting a crash course from her in the importance of home and the joys of a country lifestyle.
