Riverhounds stunned by North Carolina, 5-0
Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC’s five-match win streak ended with a whimper in Cary, N.C., as North Carolina FC romped, 5-0, at WakeMed Soccer Park.
The final line was shocking, both because the Riverhounds (11-4-8) had been on a 9-1-1 run and because they had never allowed more than two goals in a league match under Bob Lilley.
This is the first time since 2015 that the Riverhounds gave up five goals, and the first time since 2014 they’ve lost by five.
Dre Fortune had a twogoal outing for North Carolina. Donovan Ewolo also picked up a goal for NCFC (12-5-7,) which moved past the Riverhounds for fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
