Protecting Earth should be a top priority

-

Protecting the Earth is the most critical concern of not only Americans, but also the entire human race. Without clean air, water and soil, we cannot survive. Taxes, jobs, religion, border walls, national debt, immigration and corporate profits becomemeaningless.

Incredibly, our two main political parties take polar opposite views on environmental issues. Despite scientific evidence, one party denies global warming and rejects sound environmental protection policy. It says corporate profits and low taxes are more important. It supports polluting fossil fuel over clean renewable energy.

While global warming is a major reason for mass human migration, this party incredulously wants to control immigration by building a wall. Global immigration will explode as more parts of the Earth become unable to sustain human life. Inaction will only exacerbate the problem, including our southern border. This party has no viable plan for stewardship of a healthy planet.

The other major party in America recognizes that global cataclysm is on the horizon if we don’t act right now. It admits that humans are responsible for most environmental problems and only humans can correct them. It understands the connection of human migration forced by a warming planet. It knows the energy and economic future is in renewables, not fossils. It plans to bequeath a healthy livable planet tofuture generations.

Only one party will steer us toward a viable future on the Earth. Support it in 2020. JAMES FRANK

Reading, Pa. products were not. If tariffs are making things from China more expensive, why don’t we make them here again and make them better? That way we can make Americareally great again.

China steals our ideas. Why don’t we use our own ideas, talent and work ethic? Much of what is made in China is made for American companies. Bring that work back home. We can make products better and let others buy from us.

Just a simplistic idea that I think needs some thought. By directing our efforts toward domestic manufacturing, we can do more than just “make America great again” — we can make America self-reliant again. We have the right resources.
