Irwin, equity partner was awarded the Certificate of Leader Development for success completion of the Commandant’s National Security Program at the U.S. Army War College. He is one of only 50 civilians across the U.S. who was awarded this certificate in 2019. Mr. Irwin serves as chair of Leech Tishman’s government relations practice group, and is also a member of its corporate, employment and litigation practice groups.
Ira Weiss was named to the Clairton High School Hall Of Fame. He is the founding partner of Weiss Burkardt Kramer LLC and is a 1966 graduate of Clairton High School.

Fisher Associates, P.E., L.S., L.A., D.P.C., a multidisciplinary consulting firm specializing in the transportation, land development, and energy markets, moved into new office space in Southpointe at 121 Hillpointe Drive.
The National Science Foundation awarded researchers from the University of Pittsburgh and Northwestern University $2 million to study nature-based strategies that can help prevent urban flooding and give under-resourced communities the ability to prepare for, recover from, and adapt to extreme weather events. The Swanson School of Engineering’s Carla Ng, assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering, and Murat Akcakaya, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, will work with principal investigator Kimberly Gray, professor and chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Northwestern University, on the project.
Daniel Bain, assistant professor of geology and environmental science and associate director of the University of Pittsburgh’s Water Collaboratory, will also contribute.
