WR Brown quits the league after attacking others
Antonio Brown went on a Twitter rant on his first NFL Sunday without a team, announcing he was done for good with the league that exiled him. Even though, he claimed, it had been more lenient toward others facing allegations of sexual misconduct.
On the morning his most recent team was preparing to play without him, the fleet-footed but troubled wide receiver said in a tweet: “Will not be playing in the NFL anymore” and took shots at Patriots owner Robert Kraft and longtime Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
Kraft was arrested in connection with a prostitution and sexual trafficking sting in a Florida massage parlor and has not been punished; “Different strokes different folks clearly,” Brown wrote.
Roethlisberger was suspended for four games in 2010 after he was accused of sexual assault for a second time. “4 games for Big Ben crazy world I’m done with it,” Brown tweeted over a screenshot of a news article about the investigation.
Several of the tweets had been deleted by the time the Patriots kicked off against the New York Jets a couple of hours later.

Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman left New England’s win against the Jets with a chest injury. Edelman caught a 3-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady early in the second quarter. Later in the quarter, Edelman caught a pass and fell on his right side and was sandwiched by defenders Harvey Langi and Henry Anderson. Edelman got up holding his rib area and later left the game.

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett was poised, accurate and turnover-free in a win against the Atlanta Falcons after being called upon to replace retired Andrew Luck. “I was feeling like everyone was open and I was throwing it to people in my color jersey who were open,” he said. “It was just one of those days.”

After missing the playoffs a year ao, Buffalo (3-0), Detroit (2-0-1), Green Bay (30) and San Francisco (3-0) are off to unbeaten starts. It marks the fourth time since 1990 — when the current playoff format began — that at least four teams have started the season without a loss in their first three games after missing the postseason the previous year.
