Warhol 25

More proof that time flies is that The Andy Warhol Museum is now celebratin­g its silver

anniversar­y.

The 25th Anniversar­y Gala is a black-tie dinner Saturday with Joan Jett and Matthew Morrison of “Glee.” Tickets are a little steep at $750, but there is a more affordable Late Night Dance Party featuring a set by RJD2 and Operation Sappho from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., starting at $75.

On Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the 25th Anniversar­y Community Day features hands-on artmaking, gallery talks and activities, and performanc­es by David T. English Puppet Co., O’Ryan the O’Mazing!, Attack Theatre, Anqwenique Wingfield and more.

Sunday is also the opening of “Andy Warhol: Revelation,” a new exhibit that examines how the artist’s devout Byzantine Catholic upbringing influenced his artistic production. All the events take place at the museum on the North Shore. Info at warhol.org.

The second annual Pittsburgh Monster

Pumpkins Festival at North Shore Riverfront Park and Riverwalk offers that rare peek at the “colossal cucurbits.”

The event also features giant pumpkin boats on the Allegheny River, the LECOM Costume Caper 5K from the Riverwalk to the Heinz plant and back, masters attempting a world record jack-o’-lantern, pie-eating contests, and festival foods and activities.
