Saints lose more stars on offense

- By The Associated Press

The New Orleans Saints have ruled out top running back Alvin Kamara and top receiving tight end Jared Cook for Sunday for a game at Chicago.

The Saints also have listed receiver Tre’Quan Smith as out for the fourth time in five weeks. Defensive end Trey Hendrickson, who has three sacks, will miss his third game with a neck injury. Kamara, hobbled by ankle and knee soreness, has 649 yards from scrimmage in six games, rushing 86 times for 373 yards and one touchdown and catching 33 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown.

Cook, who has an ankle injury, has 15 catches for 168 yards and two touchdowns.

Ravens

New cornerback Marcus Peters said he was “surprised” by his trade from the Los Angeles Rams, which sent the Oakland native to Baltimore for linebacker Kenny Young. Peters is expected to make his Ravens debut Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

Giants

Saquon Barkley was cleared to return to New York’s lineup for a game against the Arizona Cardinals. Barkley practiced Friday and was not listed on coach Pat Shurmur’s final injury report. Last year’s offensive rookie of the year has not played since spraining his right ankle Sept. 22 against Tampa Bay.

Rams

Los Angeles expects cornerback Jalen Ramsey to play in Atlanta. Ramsey went through a second full practice with the team Friday, three days after Los Angeles acquired the disgruntled former All-Pro cornerback in a trade with Jacksonville.

Bears

Mitch Trubisky’s practice week went as planned, leaving Bears coach Matt Nagy “cautiously optimistic” that the quarterback will be clear to start against the Saints at Soldier Field. “He’s close. He’s very close,” Nagy said.
