89-year-old woman dies from injuries in four-car crash in Hays

An 89-year-old woman died from injuries she received in a four-vehicle accident in Pittsburgh’s Hays neighborhood Monday morning.

Greta L. Winter, of Bethel Park, was pronounced dead at a Pittsburgh hospital a couple of hours after the 11:30 a.m. crash in the 800 block of Mifflin Road, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office and city police.

The medical examiner’s office ruled Ms. Winter’s death an accident and said she died from multiple injuries.

Police said Ms. Winter, who was driving one of the vehicles, struck two other cars, one of which hit a fourth.

Medics also transported another woman, who was said to be in stable condition.
