Do the right thing

-

How much more chaos can this country handle? We need sensible Republicans to demand that this president be removed for his obvious instability.

Our generals gave President Donald Trump several choices of retaliation for the attack on our embassy; they added the killing of Gen. Qassem Soleimani, thinking it was so absurd that Mr. Trump would not choose it. If this “imminent attack” existed, the only choice should have been killing the general instead of being added as an afterthought. Just another lie from the constant stream of lies.

Our country cannot wait out this disaster until the next election. Mr. Trump alienates our allies and cozies up to dictators. His trade “deals” destroyed family owned farms, hurt steel and auto companies, and has cost us more money. His tax “cut” worked only for the rich and corporations, and exploded the deficit. His golf weekends are costing us millions, not to mention all the money he is personally pocketing from those trips. His lie tally is now over 15,000, and that’s only the ones that we heard, not what’s said in private.

What’s wrong with the people who attend Mr. Trump’s rallies? How can they enjoy listening to his incoherent ramblings, insults, name-calling, lies, threats of violence against protesters and absolute nonsense about toilets and dishwashers? They are a brainwashed cult. If former President Barack Obama said or did any of the ridiculous things that Mr. Trump has, it would have been unacceptable to them.

The Senate needs to do the right thing during this upcoming trial. If it doesn’t, the next move should be for the American people to demand that the 25th Amendment be used. It was created especially for the likes of Donald Trump, who is a sociopath and never belonged in the White House. Enough! MARY BEERMAN
