Plan to gut Obama’s auto mileage rules dialed back
The Trump administration has dialed back its plan to relax fuel-economy requirements for new automobiles, retreating from a bid to freeze the mandates for six years. A draft of the final rule includes several changes that could make it easier to defend in court and more palatable to some automakers that had refused to publicly endorse the earlier proposal. The changes were described by three people familiar with the measure who asked for anonymity before a formal announcement.
Lilly to build N. Carolina plant, create more than 460 jobs
Pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly & Co. will build a new manufacturing facility in North Carolina, generating over 460 new jobs. Officials unveiled the $470 million investment in the Durham County portion of Research Triangle Park. The plant in part will produce injectable drugs to treat diabetes.
Krystal burger chain files for bankruptcy protection
Krystal, one of the nation’s oldest fast-food chains, filed for federal bankruptcy court protection in Atlanta, with a hearing slated for Wednesday. Krystal said in an emailed statement that it “will remain open and operating as usual.” The chain has shuttered dozens of restaurants in recent months and now has just shy of 300 corporate and franchise locations, primarily in the Southeast.
Boeing officially stopped making 737 Max airplanes
The Boeing 737 Max is officially on hold. The assembly line in Renton, Wash., has stopped building Boeing’s bestselling plane, the company confirmed late Monday. Boeing announced plans to temporarily halt production in December, but it had not previously announced a precise day for the shutdown. Boeing will not furlough or lay off workers.

Starting this week, U.S. based customers looking for tickets from $99 to $17,500 will be able to pay those off, with interest, over a period of up to one year.
Uber sells India food firm to Zomato to cut losses
Uber Technologies Inc. will sell Uber Eats in India to local rival Zomato in a $172 million deal, according to a person familiar with the deal. Uber agreed to offload the business in return for 9.99% of the Indian startup, the companies said in a statement.
