RMU wins sixth in row

AJ Bramah’s career night helps Robert Morris remain tied atop NEC.

Robert Morris concluded a three-game road trip Thursday by extending its winning streak to six with a 77-60 victory over Mount St. Mary’s at Knott Arena in Emmitsburg, Md.

Leading at halftime, 33-30, Robert Morris (15-11, 11-2 Northeast Conference) used a 17-6 surge to open the second half and grab a 50-36 lead. The 3-pointer was a key point of the attack, as junior guard Jon Williams hit one, junior forward Charles Bain knocked down a pair and redshirt senior guard Josh Williams added another in the run. Junior forward AJ Bramah added five points during that stretch, including a threepoint play.

Bramah led all scorers with a career-high 25 points off the bench for the Colonials. He also recorded seven rebounds and a career-high four assists. Thursday marked the 21st consecutiv­e game that Bramah has scored in double figures, and the first 20point game of his career.

Women’s games

Duke 73, Pitt 56: Despite 32 points from a trio of freshmen, Pitt fell at home to the Blue Devils. Freshman forward Rita Igbokwe posted her first career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Igbokwe led all Panthers while fellow freshman Amber Brown netted 11 points and nine boards. Freshman Emy Hayford made her consecutiv­e start and produced six points, seven rebounds and a career-high four assists across a careerhigh 33 minutes of work.

Nebraska 75, Penn State 58: The Cornhusker­s used a hot-shooting third quarter to beat Penn State in Lincoln, Neb. Freshman Makenna Marisa of Peters Township led the Nittany Lions with 15 points. Nebraska finished the third quarter 11-of-14 from the field (76.2%) to take a 5843 lead into the fourth quarter.
