Stage AE concerts, other shows canceled due to COVID-19
Out of caution over the spread of the coronavirus that causes COVID19, many cultural events over the next several weeks have been postponed or canceled.
They range from club events to theater performances to the arena show by Reba McEntire.
The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra has postponed and canceled concerts through the end of March, including:
BNY Mellon Grand Classics concerts on Sunday and March 27 and 29.
PNC Pops “Bugs Bunny at the Symphony” concerts on March 20-22.
Promoter Live Nation announced that it will be putting all tours on pause until April and will reconsider after that. There are no details yet about specific shows.

Kenny Chesney announced he is postponing his Chillaxation Tour through May 28, making the May 30 show at Heinz Field the tour opener for now.
Here are the events that have been postponed or canceled thus far:

Saturday
• The Sunstar Music Festival at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater has been canceled.
• Bastard Bearded Irishmen have canceled their St. Patrick’s Day bash at the Rex Theater, South Side.
• Westmoreland Symphony
Orchestra’s Irish Rhapsody performance at the Palace Theatre, Greensburg, is postponed.
• Singer-songwriter Jon Bindley has canceled his appearance at the family friendly St. Patrick’s Day event at the Arcade Comedy Theater. “Sorry to let anyone down,” he said. “Thinking of our fellow friends and
neighbors with compromised immune systems. There will be more shows!”
• Her Ladyship, The Big Bend and Dan Getkin was canceled at Hambone’s, Lawrenceville.
• The Sunstar Festival event “Sisters are Doin’ It,” a brunch and conversation about black women in Pittsburgh’s music scene, at Kelly Strayhorn Theater’s Alloy Studios in Friendship was postponed. The “Mic Check” event, featuring R&B, soul, rap and hip-hop in the Alloy Studios, also will be rescheduled.
• International singer Marco Fiorante canceled his Easter-themed concert at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Conway in Beaver County.
• Chatham Baroque/ Renaissance & Baroque has postponed a performance by East of the River at Hicks Memorial Chapel in East Liberty.
Monday
• Nathaniel Rateliff at the Byham has been postponed. A new date will be announced.
Tuesday
• Pittsburgh band Ploughman’s Lunch is postponing its reunion concert on St. Patrick’s Day at the Thunderbird Cafe in Bloomfield, likely to Thanksgiving. Said frontman Karl Mullen: “This thing seems bigger than all of us.”
• Haken/The Contortionist at Rex Theater was canceled.
Thursday
• Railroad Earth, a progressive bluegrass band from New Jersey, has canceled its show at the Rex Theater, South Side.
• Red Hot Chilli Pipers at Jergels has been postponed.
Friday
• Bob Weir and Wolf Bros., led by the former Grateful Dead co-frontman, is postponed at the Roxian, McKees Rocks until Oct. 21. Band statement: “The health and well-being of our live music community is of the utmost importance. So, while we all deal with the effects of coronavirus (Covid19) we will be rescheduling our remaining Bob Weir and Wolf Bros headline dates. Thank you for your continued support. The audiences have been incredible on this tour, the shows have been the kinda stuff we live for and we can’t wait to get back out there with you. In the meantime, be good to yourselves — and to each other — and please take preventative actions as recommended by the CDC and WHO.” March 21
• Calliope has canceled The Way Down Wanderers at Carnegie Lecture Hall.
March 22
A Concert Celebrating the 335th Birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach. March 23
• Postmodern Jukebox canceled its tour, including the show at Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall. The band wrote an open letter to fans, saying, in part, “”All of us at Postmodern Jukebox are heartbroken by this turn of events, but we know this is just a bump in the road in our mission to bring great music and great talent around the world as it has been for the past seven years.”
March 25
• The Warhol Museum’s Sound Series concert with Jonathan Richman has been canceled.
• Guster at Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall is postponed.
March 26
• Reba McEntire concert at PPG Paints Arena moved to July 16.
• Blunts & Blondes — The Hot Box Tour at Rex Theater is postponed. March 28
• Anti-Flag’s Anti-Fest at the Roxian is postponed. April 3-5
• Chatham Baroque postponed “Les Nations” at Synod Hall, Oakland, and Campbell Memorial Chapel, Squirrel Hill.
April 4
• River City Brass’ Latin Fiesta is postponed at the Palace Theatre.
• Chatham Baroque postponed its Peanut Butter & Jam Sessions program, “Music Fit for a King” at Calvary Episcopal Church, Shadyside.
April 5
• Lords of Acid show at The Crafthouse is postponed.
April 9
• Black metal bands Mayhem and Abbath have postponed the tour booked for Mr. Smalls, Millvale.
April 10
• Hot Chelle Rae at the Rex Theater is postponed. April 15
• LA electronic band The Glitch Mob canceled the tour that was to hit the Roxian.
