Fixing communities

-

Everyone knows the murder of unarmed Black Americans by police (white or Black) must be treated as a crime and justice be done. But rioting, looting and mob violence is not a solution.

People need to be reminded that racism is not an inherited trait. Racism is learned from experience. In other words, racists are made, not born. Mob violence and lawlessness create more racists.

The problems affecting Black Americans (and all Americans) need serious solutions. Here are a few ideas:

First, make school choice universal; get kids out of the failed public school systems.

Second, ban public employee unions. These unions only protect bad teachers, bad cops and bad bureaucrats. Public employees already have civil service protection.

Third, arm the police with tranquilizer guns instead of tasers.

Fourth, institute voter ID and require all voters to vote in person at a polling place, except for the already available mailin ballot. Voting is a serious responsibility and should require citizens to take that responsibility as such. Get your ID, study the issues and go to the polls on Election Day.

Fifth, encourage the creation and retention of jobs, particularly manufacturing jobs. Force foreign entities to either abide by U.S. laws regarding wage and hour laws, labor laws, and safety and environmental laws, or pay serious tariffs.

Together, we can fix American communities.
