Roethlisberger questionable

-

The Steelers issued their final injury report before the game against Washington, and there wasn’t much good news.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, cornerback Steven Nelson and placekicker Chris Boswell did not practice on Saturday. Nelson, who injured his knee against Baltimore, is listed as doubtful and is not likely to play Monday night. Roethlisberger and Boswell are listed as questionable.

Roethlisberger did not mention his knee injury as a concern when he did an interview with reporters on Friday, nor did coach Mike Tomlin or offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner when theywere interviewed.

If Roethlisberger does not play, the Steelers would turn to Mason Rudolph, who took the starter’s reps in practice thepast two days.

The Steelers signed placekicker Matthew Wright to the practice squad this week. Boswell missed a point-after attempt against the Ravens and also had two short kickoffs.

Nelson, who has only missed one game since signing as a free agent before the 2019 season, would be replaced in the starting lineup by fourth-year defensive backCam Sutton.

The one bit of good news on Saturday was the return of defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt, who came off the COVID list and is

expectedto play Monday.

Ravens

Team president Dick Cass said in a written statement “at least four unique strains of COVID-19” entered the team’s facility and three were stopped before spreading, but a fourth “was a highly-contagious strain and spread throughout our organization,” resulting in its recent coronavirus outbreak.

Titans

Tennessee suspended top draft pick Isaiah Wilson for Sunday’s game for violating club rules after already declaring the rookie out against the Cleveland. The No. 29 pick overall out of Georgia made his season debut last week, playing four

snaps.

Seahawks

Seattle placed Bryan Mone on the Reserve/ COVID-19 list, making the injured defensive tackle the team’s first player to land on the list during the regular season. Seattle had been the only team in the league to avoid using the list during theregular season.

Free-agent linebacker Vontaze Burfict, who in 2019 received the most severe punishment in league history for an on-field infraction, was arrested in Las Vegas on a misdemeanor battery charge, according to court records. Burfict, 30, was released on his own recognizance.
