On Lake Erie and inland waters, open season for walleye, sauger and saugeye closes March 15. Harvest of walleye and their hybrids, 15-inch minimum size, is legal year-round on Pymatuning Reservoir.

Lake Erie and tributarie­s (Erie County) Shore ice was unstable on the bay and in the lake. Small tributarie­s and the upper beats of larger streams had mostly drained and steelhead anglers were on the water. Catches were reported on Sevenmile Creek and on Elk Creek at McKean.

Pymatuning Reservoir (Crawford County) Ice melt was most noticeable along shorelines. Catches of panfish and perch were reported Wednesday.

Woodcock Creek Lake (Crawford County) Ice anglers pulled panfish and muskies through rapidly degrading ice.

Canadohta Lake (Crawford County) Muskies, walleye and panfish were still being caught on ice Wednesday.

Sugar Lake (Crawford County) Ice anglers reported catching chain pickerel and largemouth bass.

Raccoon Lake (Beaver County) Ice remained too soft for fishing.

Bradys Run Lake (Beaver County) Trout were taken on open water near shorelines.

North Park Lake (Allegheny County) Rainbow and golden rainbow trout are scheduled to be stocked Monday on special regulation waters open now for catch-and-release trout fishing.

Allegheny, Monongahel­a, Ohio rivers (Allegheny County) As the rivers dropped below flood stage, anglers took advantage of the good weather and resumed fishing. From Monday to Thursday, the Mon dropped from 35 feet to just over 20 feet at Braddock. The Ohio crested at 22½ feet and dropped to 18 feet at Sewickley. The Allegheny was still high at 14 feet at Natrona.

Twin Lakes (Westmorela­nd County) These special regulation­s waters, now open for catch-and-release trout fishing, are scheduled for a state stocking of rainbows and golden rainbows March 12.

Yellow Creek Lake (Indiana County) Northern pike, largemouth bass and perch were taken on ice Tuesday, but the hardtop had degraded by Thursday.

Glendale Lake (Cambria County) Anglers reported Northerns, largemouth­s and chain pickerel taken in shallow coves still covered with ice.

Canonsburg Lake (Washington County) Enrolled in the Stocked Trout Open for Year-Round Fishing program, the lake is due for a state stocking of rainbows and golden rainbows Saturday.

Cross Creek Lake (Washington County) Ice was unstable, but anglers fished in open water from shore.

Youghioghe­ny River (Fayette, Somerset counties) Following a Feb. 26 state stocking of browns, rainbows and golden rainbows, trout were caught and released in the special regulation­s area from the dam to the Casselman River.

Dunbar Creek (Fayette County) The Catch-and-Release Fly Fishing Only area was stocked with brook trout Tuesday.

High Point Lake (Somerset County) With temperatur­es fluctuatin­g, open water was reported at shorelines.
