Ross officials are hoping to be almost back to normal in April.

Township commissioners Monday unanimously voted to meet in person beginning April 19. They will also work on broadcasting the meeting while it is happening.

“We want an option for commissioners to be virtual when we go back to in-person,” said Commissioner Joe Laslavic, chair of the administration committee.

Township Manager Ron Borczyk said the capacity of the meeting room under current state guidelines is 40 people — about 15 of whom will be commissioners and township staff.

Those who wish to attend the meeting in person will have to RSVP so they can be sure they are not exceeding the guidelines. Reservations will be on a first-come basis, said Adam Ravenstahl, assistant manager.

In the meantime, Mr. Ravenstahl will get advice from officials of the North Hills School District, where the school board is currently meeting both in person and remotely, as well as streaming the meeting on the district’s YouTube channel.

Commissioners must also RSVP for the meeting, so that they can arrange seating at least 6 feet apart, he added.

Mr. Borczyk said that some employees will return to the township building in early April, and some business with residents can be done in person.

“Everyone’s prepared. Everybody’s ready and even anxious to get back in,” he said.

In a related matter, the township has received the completed contract from Allegheny County allowing the county Health Department to give COVID-19 vaccinations in the community center gym. A start date is still not known. The county is currently only vaccinating people age 65 and older. The Ross site will be open by the end of the month.
