The past week: List struck out 15 batters and tossed a two-hit shutout in an 8-0 win vs. Central Valley on Saturday. The junior also shined at the plate, going 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs. Check this out:winning List, a Virginia Tech recruit, has started each of the Bobcats’ first three games and hurled three consecutive shutouts, including a no-hitter with 15 strikeouts in Beaver’s season-opening win vs. New Castle on March 30. She also started on the Bobcats’ WPIAL Class 4A championshipbasketball team.

What do you prefer, hitting a go-ahead home run or getting a big strikeout to end an inning? The home run is really nice, but growing up when I was little, I was always way better at pitching than I was at hitting. Growing up hitting-wise, I was always the last one in the lineup and nobody wanted me to go up with two outs, because I would always be the third out.

Will you be a two-way player at Virginia Tech or strictly focus on pitching? They expect me to be a pitcher but also hit for them.

When did your hitting ability start to catch up to your pitching ability? I think it was more going into my eighth grade and freshman year, I worked more on hitting lefthanded as well, and it helped me see the ball pretty well. So it gave me confidence that if I wanted to go right-handed, I could get my power hitting done, and if I go left-handed, I can get my little slap on base.

Isn’t being a switch-hitter extremely rare in high school softball? I have never seen anybody do it.

What’s your favorite subject in school? Right now I’m taking an environmental science class. When I go to Virginia Tech, I’m going to go for wildlife conservation as my major. So are you a big animal lover? I am an animal lover and I’ve always loved animals. I’ve always been big on horses, until I actually rode one and it tried to kill me.

What’s the most recent show you’ve binge-watched on Netflix? “Outer Banks.” That’s what it was. That’s probably my favorite.

That’s where my family and I go on vacation every summer. Do you think I would enjoy the show? Well, I think you’d be into it, but at the same time, they don’t film it at the Outer Banks.

If you could pick your own walk-up song, what would it be? I’m going to say “Crazy Train” [by Ozzy Osborne].
