NEW ON DVD

“The Suicide Squad”: James Gunn’s sequel to 2016’s “Suicide Squad” follows the exploits of villains like Harley Quinn, Bloodsport and Peacemaker as they embark on a new mission together. It stars Margot Robbie, John Cena, Idris Elba, Viola Davis and Sylvester Stallone.

“Stillwater”: Crime drama starring Matt Damon as an Oklahoma oil worker who travels to France to help his estranged daughter, who has been charged with murder. Directed by Tom McCarthy.

“Don’t Breathe 2”: This sequel to the 2016 horror movie follows Stephen Lang’s “Blind Man” character, who this time must hunt down a group of criminals after they kidnap the young orphan he’s raising in a remote cabin.

“On the Rocks”: Director Sofia Coppola and star Bill Murray team up again in this Apple TV+ film about a young mom reconnecti­ng with her playboy father as they embark on an adventure across New York City. Also starring Rashida Jones and Marlon Wayans.

AT THE MOVIES

“Last Night in Soho” (theaters): Director Edgar Wright is back with a story he co-wrote about an aspiring fashion designer who is mysterious­ly transporte­d back to the 1960s. This psychologi­cal thriller stars Thomasin McKenzie, Anya Taylor-Joy, Matt Smith and Diana Rigg.

“Antlers” (theaters): A teacher and her sheriff brother living in small-town Oregon come to believe that one of her students is secretly harboring a supernatur­al creature in his house. Directed by Scott Cooper and starring Keri Russell, Jesse Plemons and Jeremy T. Thomas.

The War on Drugs, “I Don’t Live Here Anymore”: The fifth album from the Philly indierock band is the follow-up to 2017’s “A Deeper Understand­ing,” which won the Grammy for best rock album.

Jerry Cantrell, “Brighten”: The new album from the Alice in Chains co-founder was coproduced with film composer Tyler Bates (“300,” “John Wick”) and features Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses), Greg Puciato (Dillinger Escape Plan), Gil Sharone and Abe Laboriel Jr. (Paul McCartney).

Tori Amos, “Ocean to Ocean”: The 16th album from the singer-songwriter-pianist “explores environmen­tal concerns, the restraints of the pandemic for those on the cusp of adulthood, empowermen­t, loss & healing ….”

They Might Be Giants, “Book”: The new album from the quirky alt-rockers is accompanie­d by a 144-page full-color cloth-bound hardcover book featuring original work by Brooklyn

WHAT’S ON TV

“Walker” (8 p.m. Thursday, WPCW): Realizing his life is at risk, Walker (Jared Padalecki) confronts Capt. James (Coby Bell), who confesses to Walker the real reason Micki (Lindsey Morgan) went undercover, in the Season 2 premiere.

“What We Do in the Shadows” (10 p.m. Thursday, FX): This acclaimed series adaptation of a hit horror comedy from New Zealand closes out Season 3 — with a fourth season already greenlit by FX Networks — with a finale called “The Portrait,” which finds the vampire household and their bodyguard, Guillermo (Harvey Guillen), mourning the loss of one of their own.

“Army of Thieves” (Friday, Netflix): In this prequel to Zack Snyder’s “Army of the Dead,” small-town bank teller Dieter gets drawn into the adventure of a lifetime when a mysterious woman recruits him to join a crew of Interpol’s

most wanted criminals, attempting to heist a sequence of legendary, impossible-to-crack safes across Europe.

“Colin in Black & White” (Friday, Netflix):

Dramatic limited series chronicles Colin Kaepernick’s coming of age story, tackling the obstacles of race, class and culture. It stars Jaden Michael, Nick Offerman, Mary-Louise Parker and Kaepernick himself.

“Annabelle: Creation” (6:10 p.m. Friday, HBO): It’s not unusual for a movie franchise to start running out of creative gas by its fourth installmen­t, but that’s not the case with this 2017 horror film, part of “The Conjuring” movie series.

“Great Performanc­es” (9 p.m. Friday, WQED): The Season 2 finale of “Now Hear This,” called “Beethoven’s Ghost,” takes a rewardingl­y dramatic approach to decoding the complex musical mind of composer Ludwig van Beethoven.

“In the Heights” (8 p.m. Saturday, HBO):

It underperfo­rmed at the box office, but filmmaker Jon M. Chu’s 2021 feature film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical co-created by Lin-Manuel Miranda was one of the most critically acclaimed movies of its release year.

“America’s Funniest Home Videos”

(7 p.m. Sunday, WTAE): Host Alfonso Ribeiro helps his studio audience and viewers at home get into the haunted holiday mood with a lineup of spooktacul­ar home videos on a Halloween theme.

“Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” (8 p.m. Sunday, WTAE): There are no tricks, only treats, for some worthy charities as hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White welcome a trio of new stars who are playing to raise money for their chosen causes. Guests include Anthony Michael Hall, Mario Cantone and Loni Love.

“Buried” (9 p.m. Sunday, SHO): This fourpart docuseries about repressed memories and the thorny implicatio­ns this notion raises reaches its conclusion as women across the country begin to recall their own repressed memories of forgotten trauma.

“Halloween Wars” (9 p.m. Sunday, FOOD): “Dueling Monsters,” the spine-tingling Season 11 finale, finds the last two teams facing off in a deciding challenge that tasks them with crafting cakes that vividly show what happens when two formidable monsters engage in a fight to the finish.
